About The Position

At Lawn Doctor of Clermont – Windermere – Southwest Orlando, we are seeking skilled turf and plant health professionals to join our team. Our technicians are more than just applicators; they are trusted advisors who identify issues, explain solutions, and consistently improve properties. This is a year-round, full-time position offering structured training and a clear path for career growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21+ years old (insurance requirement).
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major violations or at-fault accidents in the last 3 years).
  • Criminal & motor vehicle background review.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, and occasional rain.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead.
  • Ability to climb on/off trucks.
  • Ability to operate equipment.
  • Ability to handle hose lines up to 400’.
  • Reliability and accountability.
  • Ability to manage a route and make decisions independently.
  • Openness to following proven systems and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lawn/turf or outdoor work.
  • Experience in physically demanding jobs or working in tough conditions.
  • Ambition for long-term growth into leadership roles.
  • PCO license (for Field Manager roles).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose lawn and plant health issues.
  • Apply products to treat identified issues.
  • Explain solutions and treatment plans to homeowners.
  • Improve property health and appearance over time.
  • Manage assigned routes efficiently.
  • Operate equipment and handle hose lines.
  • Maintain pace and productivity throughout the day.
  • Address issues thoroughly, not just a 'spray and go' approach.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, using group chat and systems.
  • Determine when to solve issues independently versus when to escalate.
  • Recommend solutions when appropriate, potentially generating additional income through commissions.
  • Help develop and train new technicians (for Team Lead roles).
  • Oversee team training, customer escalations, quality control, scheduling, and production targets (for Field Manager roles).
