About The Position

Total Grounds Maintenance is seeking an experienced and dependable Crew Leader to oversee lawn maintenance and grounds maintenance crews for commercial, municipal, HOA, and government properties. This is a working leadership position. Crew Leaders are expected to lead by example while ensuring quality work, safe equipment operation, crew productivity, and professional customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and capable of managing crews in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of lawn maintenance or grounds maintenance experience preferred
  • Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience operating commercial lawn maintenance equipment
  • Ability to safely back trailers and transport equipment
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and operate equipment throughout the workday
  • Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise lawn maintenance crews daily
  • Perform mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, hedge trimming, and general grounds maintenance
  • Ensure all properties meet company quality standards
  • Assign and monitor crew responsibilities throughout the day
  • Operate and transport lawn maintenance equipment safely
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Ensure crews follow company safety procedures
  • Maintain productivity and route efficiency
  • Communicate professionally with management, coworkers, and customers
  • Address field issues and solve problems independently when possible
  • Complete work within scheduled timeframes
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Report equipment damage, accidents, or customer concerns immediately
