About The Position

Naturescape of Waukegan, Illinois is hiring a Lawn Care Specialist to serve residential and commercial customers. This field-based role involves managing a route and providing lawn and landscape services, including precision lawn care, aeration, mowing, tree and shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control. Specialists assess lawn health and customer needs, explain services, and build positive relationships with customers.

The work changes with the seasons. Winter duties may include snow removal and other available winter work. The position requires state pesticide certifications, with training provided. Naturescape provides paid training and does not require prior lawn or landscape experience. Specialists typically work 10-hour days, four days per week, with variations based on weather and customer needs. Overtime opportunities are frequently available.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Motivation and desire to learn.
• Ability to obtain or hold the state pesticide certifications required for this licensed specialist position.

Responsibilities

• Manage a service route and provide lawn and landscape care at residential and commercial properties.
• Perform lawn care, aeration, mowing, tree and shrub care and pruning, and mosquito control.
• Assess lawn health and landscape needs using provided training.
• Communicate with customers about their properties and services, answering questions and explaining recommendations.
• Adapt work to seasonal needs, including snow removal and other winter work when available.
• Develop skills through training and on-the-job learning.
