About The Position

The primary role of the Lawn Care & Maintenance Helper is to provide maintenance support to facility operations. Must be mechanically inclined and be a self-starter with a high awareness for safety. This position can be full time year round or seasonal through November, depending on your availability.

Requirements

Prior experience with commercial lawn equipment preferred.
Skilled at operating a Zero Turn Lawn mower (training provided if needed).
Able to hold and operate a gas engine string trimmer for approximately 2 hours at a time.
Able to trim shrubs using a power hedge clipper.
Able to climb and work from a ladder.
Demonstrated familiarity with computers, software and 2-way radios for verbal communication.
You should be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently.
Must be at least 18 years or older to apply.
Must be able to lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform grounds maintenance activities including, but not limited to, mowing grass, trimming shrubs, weeding, trimming trees, spreading mulch and perennial maintenance.
Responsible for the safe operation of a variety of power tools to mow and trim the lawn, trim shrubs, hedges and trees.
Rake, mulch, and pull weeds in the landscape beds.
Assist with the replacement of trees, shrubs, and perennials.
Miscellaneous light maintenance work including, but not limited to, painting, dusting and sanding.
Maintain and repair tools and mowers as needed.
Assist supervisor with various building maintenance, such as moving furniture, cleaning shop areas, moving boxes, assembly of shelving, etc.
