About The Position

The focus of the Lawn Care District Trainer is to mentor Lawn Care specialists to advance the level of Safety, Quality, and Productivity resulting in consistent excellent customer satisfaction and team member engagement. The trainer works with team members at various skill levels from new hire basics to experienced specialty knowledge areas as a role model promoting a positive work environment. Responsibilities include tracking and helping to progress team members through the Self Directed Advancement Program (SDAP). The trainer partners closely with the branch leaders to ensure activities align with direction of the District Manager and business objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a lead or training type position.
  • Outstanding communicator - both verbal and written, as well as in groups.
  • Ability to train and teach in a clear, concise manner demonstrating patience and ability to motivate team members to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Influential personality, with natural ability to “sell the SavATree story”.
  • Great can-do attitude and willingness to coach others and be coached.
  • Demonstrate respectful approach interacting at all levels within the organization answering questions and sharing knowledge along with innovative ideas to meet changing needs of training.
  • Lawn Care production expert.
  • Current required pesticide certifications based on governing state laws.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to build training presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education is a plus.
  • CDL (commercial drivers license) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with local Branch management in essential areas of Safety, Knowledge Training, and Field Production.
  • Ensuring safe operations and handling of all applicable equipment and materials.
  • Compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Setting brand standard expectations with uniforms and appropriate safety gear.
  • Following and teaching Standard Work.
  • Monitoring Lawn Care fleet and equipment maintenance and functionality.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the SavaTree program.
  • Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication methods to deliver appropriate messaging to a variety of audiences.
  • Coaching team members on interacting with customers and providing written diagnostic reports.
  • Improving team member's knowledge of lawns and landscapes.
  • Teaching methods to identify pests and diagnosis for appropriate solutions on customer properties including disease, physical and cultural conditions associated with trees and shrubs.
  • Integrating pest management into other services provided by SavaTree.
  • Providing instruction on different application techniques.
  • Ensuring results at a customer’s property meet and/or exceed company standards.
  • Promoting field secondary sales.
  • Ensuring reports and feedback provided to appropriate Arborist detailing problems cited, actions taken, and results achieved.
  • Reinforcing continuous improvement by evaluating the success of training methodology with post training review and productivity tracking.
  • Addressing any customer concerns and any deficiencies identified by team members.
  • Field production including completion of lawn routes and flexing to help with route coverage based on business needs.
