About The Position

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to serving the more than 1.5 million members of the Bronx community through our mission of Pursuing Justice with Integrity. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is currently accepting applications from law students for its 2026 Summer Internship Program. This nine-week program will run June 1, 2026, through July 31, 2026, operating on a full-time, in-person schedule, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interns will be placed in one of the Office’s specialized bureaus and will receive direct supervision, mentorship, and training from an Assistant District Attorney.

Requirements

  • Must be a law student.
  • Must submit first-semester law school transcript prior to internship offer.

Responsibilities

  • Appear on the record at arraignments, calendar calls, hearings, and trials (eligible interns through Student Practice Order).
  • Observe and assist with witness interviews, hearings, and trials.
  • Listen to and transcribe 911 calls.
  • Review police reports.
  • Participate in the decision-making process regarding offers.
  • Assist with plea negotiations.
  • Engage in a rigorous and dynamic training program including lectures and simulated practicums.
  • Complete substantive writing assignments for potential use as a future writing sample.
  • Benefit from networking opportunities including small-group conversations with Assistant District Attorneys, panels with senior leadership, exposure to specialized units, and meet-and-greets with the criminal justice community.
