About The Position

The mission of the Anoka County Law Library is to enhance access to justice for all by providing legal information and resources to the people of Anoka County. The department has an immediate opening for a Law Library Clerk, who will assist citizens and attorneys and support the maintenance of the law library by assembling and updating relevant materials. This is a part-time, non-exempt, on-site position. This part time position is based on 24 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program.
  • Enrollment in a school program related to librarianship or the law.
  • Experience with legal resources such as Westlaw, MNCourts.gov, and Google Scholar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal reference assistance to both self-represented litigants and attorneys.
  • Greet patrons and offer support in navigating resources.
  • Assist library patrons in various technological areas, such as using computer, making copies, or faxing documents.
  • Schedule self-represented litigants for our various legal clinics.
  • Respond to general information requests and assist in locating resources.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
