As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government airport location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience for travelers, visitors, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to situations, and contribute to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
• Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
• Valid Driver's License
• Law Enforcement Officer License
• 22+ years of age
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs: 1. Certified State law enforcement recruit training. 2. Certified County law enforcement recruit training. 3. Federal law enforcement training. 4. Programs approved by the Director.
• No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.
• Must be able to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
• Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned Post/duties.
• In good physical health and be fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
• Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
• Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
• Subject to a random drug screen.
• Must be able to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties.
• Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
• Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
• Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
• Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing.
• Correctable, vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
• Able to hear at a normal conversational level. A hearing aid may be used to.
• Possess 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.
• Maturity in conduct behavior and attitude.
• Ability to take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
• Alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct. Ability to recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations.

• Courtesy in inter-person relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
• LEOs may be required to provide a court appearance for citations that are issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs that are required to attend a court proceeding.
• Provide customer service to airport personnel, travelers, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of terminal areas, parking facilities, access points, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and site procedures.
• Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, and security-related concerns; report observations promptly through established communication channels.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with airport operations and public agencies as directed.
• Maintain required documentation, incident reports, patrol logs, and equipment accountability records in accordance with site requirements.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
