Requirements

  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation and collections procedures.
  • Excellent drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of files with competing deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with legal management systems and electronic court filing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, motions, default judgments, Requests to the Clerk, and related court documents.
  • Prepare garnishment materials, writs of seizure and sale, and enforcement documentation.
  • Draft cover letters and correspondence for court filings and service packages.
  • File materials with applicable courts and registries (electronically or in person, as required).
  • Ensure all filings comply with court rules, formatting, and procedural requirements.
  • Track filing confirmations and court responses.
  • Independently track and manage litigation deadlines, including service timelines, response periods, and enforcement steps.
  • Advance files proactively through each stage of litigation and post-judgment enforcement.
  • Identify delays or procedural issues and escalate as needed.
  • Prepare and manage garnishments, writs, and other enforcement actions.
  • Coordinate payouts, distributions, and satisfaction documentation.
  • Prepare releases, satisfactions, and closing documentation once matters are resolved.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate file notes and records.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding litigation status, timelines, and enforcement activity.
  • Support reporting and audit requests by pulling and compiling file materials.
