About The Position
The Laundry position is responsible for making available a quantity of clean linen for the proper care and comfort of all residents. This role involves maintaining all linen in good repair, removing damaged linen from service, collecting laundry from residents, sorting, treating, washing, drying, and folding clothing and linens. The position also includes delivering clean laundry items to resident rooms, following all sanitary processes and procedures, maintaining an inventory of laundry supplies, and using all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner. Any issues with laundry equipment should be reported to the Administrator.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures
- Basic math skills
- Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk and talk, read or hear.
- Frequent use of industrial washers and dryers and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.
Responsibilities
- Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
- Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.
- Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
- Label new resident’s clothing items as needed.
- Sorting, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens.
- Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
- Follows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
- Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
- Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
