About The Position

Under general supervision of the Transport/Laundry Supervisor, performs a variety of duties relative to the processing of laundered items through the hospital’s laundry. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent level of education normally attained in courses at secondary school levels.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Read, write legibly and speak English.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks and ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the daily activities and operations of the laundry department.
  • Operates washer and dryer according to established department procedure.
  • Performs laundry related duties to include pick up of soiled linen and delivery of clean linen to all units and clinical areas.
  • Folds linen and operates the Scrub-Avail System.
  • Stocks fresh linen on all linen carts.
  • Picks up and delivers linen carts to departments.
  • Organizes all clean linens inside and outside laundry department daily.
  • Maintains and monitors par levels of linen for the hospital.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the laundry areas.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
