Laundry Worker- Part Time
About The Position
This is a part-time Laundry Worker position responsible for cleaning all hotel linens and receiving items from customers. The role involves inspecting articles for stains, sorting them by fabric type and color, and operating laundry and dry-cleaning machines. Key duties include adding cleaning agents, removing and hanging cleaned items, maintaining machines, and ensuring the proper cleaning of all articles. The Laundry Worker must also adjust machine settings according to fabric care instructions, treat spots and stains, monitor the cleaning process, and deliver linens to guest floors. Additionally, the role requires modeling the company's guest service program and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in facility cleaning preferred
- Must be able to obtain a New York State Gaming License
- Good communication skills
- Able to lift 50 pounds frequently
- Able to stand, reach and bend frequently
Responsibilities
- Cleans all hotel linens
- Receive items from customers and mark them with codes or names
- Inspect articles for stains and fabrics that require special care
- Sort articles to be cleaned by fabric type, color, and cleaning technique
- Load clothing into laundry and dry-cleaning machines
- Add detergent, bleach, and other chemicals to laundry and dry-cleaning machines
- Remove, sort, and hang clothing and other articles after they are removed from the machines
- Clean and maintain laundry and dry-cleaning machines
- Ensure proper cleaning of clothing, linens, and other articles
- Adjust machine settings for a given fabric or article, as determined by the cleaning instructions on each item of clothing
- Ensure proper type and amount of cleaning detergent or liquid solvents to washing machines
- When necessary, treat spots and stains on articles before washing
- Monitor machines during the cleaning process and ensure that items are not lost or placed with items of another customer
- Deliver linens to guest floors as needed
- Role Model Company guest service program
- Other duties as assigned
