About The Position

Operate or tend washing and drying machines to wash and dry-clean industrial or household articles, blankets, linens, including using spotters.

Requirements

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control over costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Little or no previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience is needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational or production activities.
• Operate garment treatment equipment.
• Sort materials or products for processing, storing, shipping, or grading.
• Count and record finished products or workpieces.
• Remove products or workpieces from production equipment.
• Clean production equipment.
• Lubricate production equipment as needed.
• Inspect items for defects, damage, or stains.
• Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying or standards.
• Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
• Smooth garments with irons, presses, or steamers.
• Mount materials or workpieces onto production equipment.
• Prepare fabrics or materials for processing or production.
