About The Position

Are you seeking a full-time Laundry Worker/Housekeeping position with a team that puts Hospitality first? If so, you will love joining the team of rock stars at North Oaks, a premier retirement community in Pikesville, Maryland! The Laundry/Housekeeper is responsible on assigned days for laundering for the residents, health center, and dining room such as washing, ironing, folding, sorting, etc. of clothing and linens. The Laundry/Housekeeper is also responsible on assigned days for the cleanliness and neatness of assigned apartments and common areas. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a schedule of 7am-3:30pm, 5 days/week with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to process 50-60 pounds of laundry at a time.
  • Compliance with North Oaks immunization requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial laundry experience and previous housekeeping experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, and fold the Community laundry.
  • Ensures that all Health Center laundry is properly sorted, washed and dried according to State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensures that the laundry room is maintained in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments, such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting all cleared flat surfaces.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties of hallways and common areas as directed by supervisor.
  • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
  • Maintains resident confidentiality at all times.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations.
  • HIPAA Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.
  • OIG Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Interacts with residents and coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.
