About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleaning of the building, equipment, and furnishings to maintain a clean, comfortable and home-like environment for residents with mental disorders. This includes mopping, scrubbing and sanitizing resident rooms and common areas of the facility.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic laundry procedures such as water temperature for different fabrics, detergents and cleaning agents for different types of soil, and customary folding techniques
• Skill in operating commercial washers and dryers, and labeling machine
• Skill in basic mending
• Ability to read instructions
• Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
• Six months’ experience in commercial washers and dryers
