About The Position

The Laundry Technician will be responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering facility linens and residents' personal clothing. The role ensures high hygiene, sanitation, and infection control standards. It will be essential that the Laundry Technician supports and integrates Sizemore’s core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety and Teamwork into the daily performance of assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

High school graduate or recipient of GED
Kind and compassionate.

Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm as well as diplomacy when dealing with any person no matter the circumstances.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

Laundry aide or General Cleaning experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operating commercial or industrial washing machines and dryers, separating delicate/personal items from heavy bed linens, and properly pre-treating stains.
Carefully documenting, washing, folding, and delivering residents' personal clothing so that nothing gets lost, torn, or damaged.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the laundry room floors and equipment. You will also be responsible for clearing lint filters to prevent fire hazards.
Monitoring machines for proper functioning and reporting any malfunctions to maintenance supervisors.
Strict adherence to infection control, health, and safety guidelines.
Drives a culture of constant improvement, identifying and implementing changes to increase productivity and efficiency of service.
Enforces Sizemore’s policies and procedures as needed.
Additional duties assigned, as necessary.
