About The Position

The purpose of this role is to implement laundry procedures to operate the laundry department in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet resident's' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. The job description provides a framework for the job, other duties may be as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• One (1) or more years working in a commercial laundry setting
• Ability to read and write English
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderly
• Meet all state health requirements
• Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities under essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Proper use and care for laundry equipment
• Handle clean and soiled laundry appropriately
• Use laundry supplies properly
• Identify and report garments or linens in ill repair to supervisor
• Distribute clothing to residents' rooms in accordance with the theft loss program
• Follow infection control procedures through proper handling, storage, washing and transporting of all garments and linens.
• Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner
• Follow laundry procedures in accordance with facility protocol
• Adjust water temperature valves to maintain required temperatures
