About The Position

The Laundry Operator maintains a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel by processing, cleaning, folding, and storing linens and laundry items. The role also includes keeping the laundry area organized, assisting with inventory, responding to guest requests, and reporting equipment problems or hazardous conditions. The position requires physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and carrying, and following cleanliness and safety procedures.

Requirements

Arrive at work on time and as scheduled.
Ability to stand for up to 7 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment.
Ability to move and lift heavy objects such as linen, linen carts, and bags of linen.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as brooms and spray bottles.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in writing, by phone or in person.
Ability to learn, follow, and enforce cleanliness standards for the laundry area.
Ability to follow safety procedures and recognize and act in emergency situations.
Lifting capacity of up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to walk or stand for a significant degree of the workday, as well as reach, handle, feel, talk, hear, and see.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Six months of laundry, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Sort and weigh soiled and unsoiled linen.
Load and unload washers and dryers.
Fold and store linen.
Clean laundry machinery and the laundry area.
Assist with laundry inventories.
Fold and store valet and laundry bags.
Keep the work area neat and organized.
Respond to guest requests.
Report mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to a supervisor, manager, or Security Department.
Follow cleanliness standards and safety procedures, and recognize and act in emergency situations.
