Laundry/Housekeeper
About The Position
Calyx Living is actively seeking an energetic Laundry/Housekeeper for our assisted living community located in beautiful North Durham off the Eno River and just minutes from Duke University, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham's vibrant entertainment district. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing, making beds and changing linens, vacuuming, and anything else needed for residents to live comfortably and in a clean, polished environment. Must have a "safety first" attitude towards all of our residents and staff.
Requirements
- Housekeeping experience strongly preferred
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication with residents and families
- Superb listening skills
- Honest and reliable
- Diligent and hardworking
- Must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time and may be required to move furniture
- Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
- High School diploma preferred
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitizing resident areas
- Making beds and changing linens
- Vacuuming
- Maintaining levels of supplies and assisting with ordering of products
