About The Position

The laundry attendant's primary responsibilities include cleaning and pressing soiled linen from guest rooms and other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper. This role is crucial for ensuring the hotel's linen is clean and available for use by various departments. The position requires a commitment to guest service, maintaining hotel standards, and performing laundry-specific tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Relative experience in customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and supervisors for optimum operation of the property.
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lift as required to file documents or store materials.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and pressing soiled linen from guest rooms.
  • Sorting linen by type.
  • Properly loading washers and dryers.
  • Following proper laundry folding and stacking procedures.
  • Separating re-wash linen using proper procedures.
  • Assisting with monthly inventory procedures.
  • Collecting dirty linen from guest rooms.
  • Cleaning linen traps from dryers.
  • Performing equipment wipe downs and reporting any malfunctions to management.
  • Sweeping and mopping laundry floors.
  • Removing trash at the end of the shift.
  • Approaching all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintaining regular attendance and adhering to scheduling.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Complying with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Ensuring that linen is clean and available for use by the hotel’s departments when needed.
  • Performing other duties as required.
