About The Position

This role is responsible for representing the hotel with authenticity, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a business-like appearance and demeanor to all hotel guests, clients, prospective clients, agents, and the community. The Laundry Attendant will retrieve soiled linens for sorting and treatment, load laundry into washers with specified cleaning agents, and dry items as indicated. They will sort and fold or hang clean dried items according to company quality standards, and sort items by color, weight, and/or fabric type when necessary or directed. The position also involves maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies, communicating needs to a supervisor, and maintaining laundry equipment, informing the facilities manager of any maintenance needs. Upholding a friendly demeanor with guests, adhering to all hotel policies and procedures, and sustaining property safety through risk-management behavior, proper inspections, participation in the Safety and Security Committee, and knowledge of emergency procedures are also key aspects of this role. Following safety procedures as defined by the role is essential.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a Laundry Attendant preferred.
  • Work authorization in the United States required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
  • Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
  • Ascend and descend a ladder

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve all soiled linens to be sorted and treated.
  • Load laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents to then be dried as indicated.
  • Sort and fold or hang clean dried items according to company quality standards.
  • Sort items by color, weight, and/or fabric type when necessary or when directed.
  • Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Maintain all laundry equipment and inform facilities manager as to any maintenance needs.
  • Uphold a friendly demeanor with all guests and interact accordingly, including salutations upon entry and exit.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures throughout the execution of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Sustain the safety of the property though risk-management behavior, proper inspections, participation in Safety and Security Committee and knowledge of emergency procedures.
