About The Position

The purpose of this position is to ensure the proper sorting and distribution of laundry to meet high standards of quality. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for transporting dirty and clean linen and terry to and from the hotel/spa and laundry facilities, emptying the laundry chute and preparing loads for the washer, and pre-sorting and separating linen by classification and transferring by lifting, carrying or transporting to work stations. This role also involves running folding equipment to fold mats, blankets, towels, bedspreads, etc., including running the ironer, and separating laundry requiring mending or special stain removal. Additionally, the attendant will clean empty hampers and provide assistance to the washer by pushing carts from washing to drying area. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time.
May require lifting bundles (linen) weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as safety labels and instructions.

Responsibilities
