About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness, collection, distribution, and inventory of all linens at the Plymouth Hotel. The role includes sorting and transporting soiled linen, operating washers and dryers, folding terry, maintaining laundry equipment and the laundry area, and assisting with laundry inventories. During the PM shift, the attendant assists the uniform room. Duties, tasks, schedules, and requirements may change according to guest requests or hotel needs.

Requirements

• Able to carry 75 pounds.
• Commitment to superior customer service and excellent customer service skills.
• Strong initiative and self-motivation.
• Fluency in job-related English, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Appreciation and respect for the diversity of all individuals in the workplace.
• Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
• At least one year of experience within a housekeeping department.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled linen, separating terry for in-house laundry from linen for outsourced laundry.
• Collect dirty linen in laundry bins and transport carts to the dock; transport empty bins to the chute area.
• Load and unload linen bins from the laundry truck.
• Load and unload washers and dryers, and fold terry.
• Keep the laundry area clean.
• Clean laundry machines.
• Assist with laundry inventories.
• Report mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
• Assist the uniform room during the PM shift.
