About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests. This role focuses on maintaining spotless cleanliness, ensuring product consistency and quality, and contributing to overall teamwork and guest satisfaction. The Laundry Attendant performs all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading of washers, dryers, and laundry chutes, folding, storing, and delivering linens. They are responsible for washing and drying all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc., removing and sorting dirty linens and towels from laundry carts, folding linens/towels, and stocking linen carts as required. The role also involves understanding the operation of washing machines and dryers, cleaning dryer filters, maintaining equipment, sweeping and mopping laundry floors, keeping laundry carts clean, stocking linen closets, and managing cleaning chemicals.

  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based upon the demands of the hotel.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Never work while off the clock.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Carrying certain laundry supplies, linens and other items.

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading of washers, dryers, and laundry chutes, folding, storing and delivering.
  • Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc., as directed by management.
  • Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
  • Fold linens/towels and stock linen carts, as required.
  • Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
  • Clean dryer filter as directed and noted on checklist and maintain all equipment as trained.
  • Sweep and mop laundry floors storing all linens off the floor.
  • Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
  • Stocks all linen closets throughout the hotel, as applicable.
  • Replace and replenish cleaning chemicals.
  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Be aware of and support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understand relevant technology for the role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Ensure all operational checklists are completed accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with Team Members.
  • Exhibit a 'Can Do' Attitude, willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Work together to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.
