Laundry Attendant - PM- PT
About The Position
This position is responsible for performing all stages of linen processing, including sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, and folding and storing linen. The role also involves cleaning laundry machinery and the laundry area, assisting with laundry inventories, and folding and storing valet and laundry bags. Supportive functions include keeping the work area neat and organized, responding to guest requests, and reporting mechanical problems or hazardous conditions. The role requires regular attendance and the ability to work varying schedules to meet business needs in the hospitality industry. Team members must also assimilate into the company culture and demonstrate a working knowledge of service standards.
Requirements
- Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled
- Ability to stand on feet up to 7 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment
- Physically able to move/lift large, heavy objects such as: linen, linen carts and/or bags of linen
- Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: brooms, spray bottles
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and other team members verbally and in written form, over the phone, or in person
- Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to the laundry area
- Ability to follow all safety procedures and standards and ability to recognize and act in emergency situations
- Latex and/or rubber gloves
- Dust mask
- Closed toe and low heeled shoes with rubber soles
- Safety belt
- Safety glasses
Nice To Haves
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- 6 months laundry experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
- CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
- Bi-lingual language ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
