About The Position

The Laundry Attendant ensures hotel quality standards are met by cleaning and storing hotel linens in a timely, organized manner according to policies and procedures. This role involves operating washers and dryers, adding necessary chemicals, folding clean linens, and assisting with linen counts. The attendant is also responsible for reporting malfunctioning equipment, recording damaged linens, and maintaining a clean working area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read and understand directions on equipment and supplies.
• Standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Occasionally may need to lift 50-100 lbs. (with help) if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensures necessary chemicals are added prior to wash cycles.
• Folds clean linens and stores as appropriate.
• Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.
• Informs supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
• Records all damaged or stained linens.
• Complies with energy conservation and job safety regulations.
• Notifies supervisor of incidents or conflicts that affect normal business operations or guest services.
• Cleans dryers promptly after cooling.
• Cleans and sweeps working area.
