About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining the condition of all hotel linen in accordance with the standards of Sunridge through efficient cleaning and processing. This role involves meeting and exceeding customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork, communicating effectively, and performing other duties as required. The attendant must ensure maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry, operating and maintaining laundry equipment, and adhering to hotel policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to sort laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color, item or soil concentration.
  • Ability to pull damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers.
  • Ability to load washers and dryers to recommended weights.
  • Ability to set dryers for proper heating and cooling times.
  • Ability to operate, maintain and clean laundry equipment.
  • Ability to inform supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages.
  • Ability to fold all linen.
  • Adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Punctuality and adherence to scheduled work times.
  • Adherence to hotel grooming and dress standards.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to keep supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters.
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to maintain a favorable working relationship with co-workers.
  • Ability to project a favorable image of Sunridge and the hotel.
  • Ability to achieve required threshold scores according to brand and Sunridge inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork.
  • Provide value-added service to customers by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.
  • Meet Sunridge service standards.
  • Perform other duties as required to provide service and teamwork.
  • Ensure maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, color, item or soil concentration.
  • Pull damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers.
  • Ensure maximum loading capacity of machines.
  • Load washers and dryers to recommended weights.
  • Save energy by setting dryers for proper heating and cooling times.
  • Place only proper linens in the dryer to be dried.
  • Operate, maintain and clean laundry equipment according to Sunridge standards.
  • Inform supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implemented.
  • Fold all linen to closets and storage areas.
  • Adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Attend work on time as scheduled.
  • Follow hotel grooming and dress standards.
  • Minimize safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
  • At all times project a favorable image of Sunridge and the hotel to the public.
  • Perform such other ancillary and related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
  • Achieve required threshold scores according to brand and Sunridge inspections.
