About The Position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing soiled linens and distributing clean linens to ensure a consistent supply for the hotel's operations. This role involves operating laundry equipment, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and ensuring all linens meet quality standards. The Public Area Attendant ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas, including restrooms, elevators, and lobbies, to maintain high-quality standards. This role supports guest services by responding to requests and performing additional cleaning tasks to exceed guest expectations.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and ironers.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in laundry operations is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers.
  • Operate washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders to process linen.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Place folded linen and terry cloth in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area.
  • Notify Supervisor or Manager of any equipment malfunctions, damaged linens, or supply needs.
  • Follow hotel safety standards and use only approved chemicals.
  • Perform routine laundry tasks and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all public areas of the hotel, including restrooms, lobbies, and elevators, to meet high standards of quality.
  • Respond to guest requests for items such as rollaway beds, refrigerators, and other amenities, and assist with turndown service when needed.
  • Clean back-of-house areas and provide assistance to hotel staff, such as vacuuming offices and checking room status.
  • Maintain inventory levels for public areas, such as towels for the fitness center and pool, and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Consistently monitor public areas to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the hotel.
  • Perform additional cleaning projects as directed by the supervisor, such as carpet or tile and grout cleaning.
  • Follow brand standards and ensure all duties are performed to meet or exceed guest expectations.
