About The Position

Del Rio Nursing Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Part-Time Laundry Aide for the Evening Shift. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents by managing all aspects of laundry services. The ideal candidate will follow all instructions, safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and infection-control procedures. They will operate, clean, and care for laundry equipment, handle, sort, wash, dry, fold, iron, and distribute laundry according to Community policies. Maintaining proper chemical usage and water temperatures, safely managing clean and soiled laundry to prevent cross-contamination and loss, and keeping the laundry area clean, organized, and odor-free are key responsibilities. Reporting any issues with linens, equipment, or safety concerns to the supervisor is also required. The role involves following waste-disposal procedures, Residents’ Rights, and all Community policies, while working cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and team members. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and infection-control procedures.

Knowledge of proper water temperatures and safe chemical usage.
Ability to manage clean and soiled laundry to prevent cross-contamination and loss.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and odor-free laundry area.
Ability to report damaged linens, malfunctioning equipment, or safety concerns.
Knowledge of waste-disposal procedures and Residents’ Rights.
Ability to work cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Responsibilities

Operate, clean, and care for all laundry equipment and automated dispensing systems.
Handle, sort, wash, dry, fold, iron, and distribute laundry according to Community policies.
Maintain proper water temperatures and use laundry chemicals efficiently and safely.
Safely manage clean and soiled laundry to prevent cross-contamination and loss.
Keep the laundry area clean, organized, odor-free, and ensure lint baskets are emptied regularly.
Report damaged linens, malfunctioning equipment, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Follow waste-disposal procedures, Residents’ Rights, and all Community policies.
Work cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and fellow team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
