About The Position
Generations at Applewood in Matteson, IL, has an Immediate Opening for a Full Time Laundry Aide. The primary purpose of the Laundry Aide is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations. Generations at Applewood is a beautiful skilled-nursing community in Matteson, Illinois, near Kostner and Lincoln Highway. We provide a home-like setting plus concierge-level services and amenities for seniors in need of long-term care or short-term rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Laundry experience in healthcare preferred
- Experience in a Long-Term Care facility preferred
- Show kindness and respect toward residents, family members, visitors
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Responsibilities
- Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas in the laundry room and separate all items that require special stain removal/treatment
- Wash and dry soiled linen, laundry and garments
- Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to resident daily
- Keep Laundry room floors clean
- Clean walls and ceilings of laundry rooms as necessary
- Turn in all unidentified laundry, linens, garments, etc., to lost and found
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers
