About The Position

The Laundry Aide works in the Environmental Services department and reports to the Laundry Supervisor/Director of Environmental Services. The position is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., five days per week, including every other weekend and holiday. The Laundry Aide maintains a supply of clean garments and linens, handles laundry equipment and supplies, distributes clothing to residents, and follows infection-control and facility policies. The role may also support Dining Service and Housekeeping when requested.

Requirements

Follow verbal and written directions.

Responsibilities

Maintain a steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean garments and linens.
Load garments and linens into an electrically powered washer.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions.
Handle, store, wash, and transport garments and linens properly to prevent the spread of infection.
Operate an automated laundry solution dispensing system.
Transfer garments from the washer to the dryer.
Hang, fold, and stack garments and linens.
Report garments or linens in ill repair to the seamstress.
Distribute clothes to residents’ rooms.
Observe infection-control procedures related to the Laundry Department.
Attend in-service training programs.
Come to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
Work in other Hospitality areas, such as Dining Service and Housekeeping, when called upon.
Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times.
Follow the facility safety program.
Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
Assume accountability for data contained in the Staff Handbook.
Understand and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor.
