Laundry Aide 1 (PT)
About The Position
The Laundry Aide is responsible for sorting laundry, folding terry and linens, and providing service to guests and other departments. This role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and order of the laundry facility, operating laundry equipment safely, and adhering to personal appearance standards to present a professional image. The position requires monitoring the quality of laundered items, ensuring a continual flow of linen/terry, and maintaining a pleasant and tactful demeanor. A key aspect of this role is to foster high staff morale, project a positive attitude, and work effectively with others. The Laundry Aide must be detail and quality-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and possess excellent time management skills to meet firm deadlines. They will also be responsible for assigned projects, assisting in any area of laundry as needed, reporting misuse of linen/terry, and ensuring all laundry employees meet resort standards. Adherence to environmental practices of the resort is also required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year previous Housekeeping/Laundry experience preferred
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
- Good communication skills, including verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of workplace safety
- Operate the laundry equipment safely as trained
- Adhere to personal appearance standards and present a professional image
- Monitor the quality of laundered linen/terry. Notify your Laundry Manager/Supervisor of any deviations or unacceptable linen/terry
- Maintain a continual flow of linen/terry as directed
- Maintain a pleasant and tactful personality
- Possess excellent organization and communication skills
- Maintain high staff morale and project a positive attitude
- Work effectively with others
- Be detail and quality oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Possess excellent time management skills and be comfortable with meeting firm deadlines
- Responsible for any projects assigned to you
- Assist in any area of laundry that you are needed
- Report any misuse of linen/terry to your Laundry Manager/Supervisor
- Ensure that all laundry employees are meeting Grand Traverse Resort and Spa standards
- Responsible for any and all other reasonable requests by management
- Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
- Other duties may be assigned
