About The Position

The Laundry Aide plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by efficiently managing the laundering of linens, uniforms, and other textiles within the facility. This position ensures that all laundry items are properly sorted, washed, dried, folded, and delivered in a timely manner to support smooth operational workflows. The Laundry Aide contributes to a safe and sanitary environment by adhering to established protocols for handling soiled materials and operating laundry equipment. Attention to detail and consistency in quality are essential to meet the expectations of both staff and clients. Ultimately, this role supports the overall health and comfort of the facility’s occupants by providing clean and well-maintained laundry services daily.

Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying laundry loads up to 50 pounds.
• Basic understanding of laundry processes and ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Attention to detail daily to ensure that all items are properly sorted and cleaned without damage.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential for operating machinery and handling heavy loads safely.
• Time management skills help prioritize tasks to meet laundry demands efficiently throughout the work shift.
• Communication skills facilitate effective coordination with supervisors and other staff to maintain workflow and address any issues promptly.
• Knowledge of safety protocols ensures a secure working environment while handling chemicals and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in a laundry or housekeeping environment.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry chemicals and safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management for laundry supplies.

• Good communication skills to coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently following manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to the supervisor for appropriate action.
• Fold, organize, and distribute clean laundry to designated departments or storage areas promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
• Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including the proper handling of soiled linens and use of personal protective equipment.
• Record laundry loads and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management.
