About The Position

Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned, adhering to established procedures and safety precautions. This role involves distributing clean laundry, maintaining work areas, and ensuring adequate supplies. The Laundry Aide will also coordinate with nursing services, assist with new staff orientation, and attend departmental meetings. Maintaining infection control and proper waste disposal are key responsibilities.

Requirements

Ability to perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
Ability to perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
Ability to assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
Ability to assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing duties.
Ability to ensure that work/cleaning schedules for equipment are followed.
Ability to report all accidents/incidents in a timely manner.
Ability to coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
Ability to assist with department orientation training for new staff.
Ability to attend departmental and staff meetings.
Ability to perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Ability to follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
Ability to ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Ability to follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
Ability to ensure that infection control policies and procedures are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
Ability to discard sharps into designated containers.
Ability to dispose of all types of refuse daily in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
Ability to ensure adequate laundry/linen supplies are maintained.
Ability to ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
