About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Launch Support Systems Hardware Engineer to join our team! In this role you will work as a technical staff member of the GMN CIS Product Team supporting LSS Hardware engineering, development, test, and delivery activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related STEM discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years direct experience in missile defense launch support systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required.
  • Active security clearance (SECRET or above) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in digital engineering/DevSecOps development projects is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CIS Chief Engineer and LSS Product Lead in analyzing and defining requirements for developing, testing, and fielding LSS hardware electronic and mechanical components that must survive and operate in extreme, adversarial environments.
  • Translate Missile Defense System (MDS) Core Standards, Mission Assurance Plan (MAP), Parts, Materials, Processes/Procedures (PMP), and other agency objectives/processes into LSS requirements.
  • Ensure that the LSS hardware systems comply with GMD interceptor silo interface requirements, stringent military standards for anti-tamper, environmental durability, electromagnetic compatibility, and operational survivability.
  • Evaluate the LSS development contractor’s design against LSS performance requirements, as well as supply chain vulnerabilities, utilizing Trusted Foundry chips and designing out obsolete components (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages - DMSMS) to ensure supportability for required lifecycles.
  • Assist the CIS Chief Engineer and LSS Product Lead in preparation, conduct, and after-action responsibilities for program management reviews, system requirements reviews, design reviews, project status reviews, test and acceptance events, fielding readiness reviews, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Develop and present technical reports and briefings including support to the Engineering Review Boards (ERB), other Stakeholder coordination, and Operational Capacity List (OCL) approval process.
  • Travel as required (estimated 20%).
