About The Position

The Launch Supply Manager is responsible for leading operational execution of commercialization for new product launches and product renovations, from Commercialization Readiness through launch stabilization and transition to standard catalog management. This role serves as the operational lead across Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, and external manufacturing partners to ensure launches are executable, supply-ready, and successfully delivered to market. The Launch Specialist is accountable for ensuring every launch has a credible, executable, and financially responsible path from commercialization readiness through stable supply. The role partners closely with Product & Innovation (P&I) and New Product Launch Project Management teams, which own commercialization governance, integrated launch timelines, and cross-functional orchestration to achieve commercialization readiness. Following the Commercialization Readiness Gate, the Launch Specialist assumes primary accountability for operational launch execution, manufacturing readiness, inventory strategy, supply risk management, and launch stabilization activities. This role plays a critical part in balancing customer service, manufacturing efficiency, inventory health, agility, and financial stewardship while supporting a rapidly growing global launch portfolio in a highly dynamic environment. The position reports into the Supply Planning organization and is a key contributor to building scalable operational commercialization capabilities across Sol de Janeiro’s global supply chain.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in supply planning, operational commercialization, manufacturing planning, launch execution, or related supply chain functions; beauty or consumer packaged goods experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply planning, procurement, inventory management, and operational commercialization processes.
• Experience supporting new product launches within highly cross-functional organizations and fast-paced business environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational complexity, competing priorities, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Experience balancing service, cost, inventory, agility, and operational constraints in supply chain decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate operational cost drivers and supply chain tradeoffs, including production economics, inventory investment, sourcing strategies, manufacturing efficiencies, and launch-related risk mitigation costs.
• Strong understanding of inventory management concepts including MOQs, lead times, safety stock, excess & obsolete inventory exposure, and production planning tradeoffs.
• Ability to proactively identify operational risks and drive mitigation planning across cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and organizational levels.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and execution-oriented capabilities.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly in a highly dynamic, highly entrepreneurial, growth environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent track record of delivering against commitments and timelines.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and supply chain planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Own operational commercialization execution for launches from Commercialization Readiness through launch stabilization and transition into base business operations.
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for all manufacturing supply chain planning and execution activities related to launches and product renovations.
• Partner with Product & Innovation (P&I) and New Product Launch Project Management teams during commercialization planning to provide early operational input, identify execution risks, and support successful transition into commercialization execution.
• Participate in Contract Manufacturing kickoffs led by the NPL Project Management team to establish early understanding of manufacturing requirements, operational constraints, supply risks, and commercialization complexity.
• Collaborate with NPL Project Management, Procurement, Packaging Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to assess cost feasibility, supply chain complexity, and operational tradeoffs associated with new product launches and product renovations.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding operational cost drivers including batch sizing, production run strategies, changeover requirements, manufacturing efficiencies, value-added activities, MOQ impacts, supply network constraints, and inventory exposure.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate operational cost implications associated with launch design decisions, including production efficiency, inventory strategy, sourcing complexity, logistics requirements, and supply chain risk mitigation activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional operational readiness activities across Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Packaging Engineering, and external partners.
• Ensure launches are operationally executable while balancing speed, service, cost, agility, and inventory health.
• Lead operational decision-making, escalation, and mitigation planning for launch execution risks.
• Lead manufacturing feasibility assessments, evaluating packaging technology, processing capability, line readiness, production scalability, labor requirements, operational complexity, and industrialization risk.
• Partner with Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to validate launch readiness assumptions and operational feasibility.
• Partner with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to evaluate sourcing and production strategies that optimize cost, service, scalability, and long-term operational efficiency.
• Influence cross-functional teams and business stakeholders regarding operational constraints, tradeoffs, and executable launch timing recommendations.
• Support operational acceptance decisions for launches entering commercialization execution phases.
• Ensure production readiness commitments and manufacturing milestones are achieved.
• Evaluate commercialization scale-up strategies and identify technical, operational, or supply chain risks that could impact successful industrialization.
• Develop launch inventory and production strategies that balance customer service, manufacturing efficiency, agility, and inventory exposure.
• Determine appropriate initial production run strategies based on launch timing, forecasted demand, operational constraints, and post-launch demand expectations.
• Evaluate operational cost tradeoffs and provide recommendations that balance customer service, manufacturing efficiency, inventory investment, agility, and total supply chain cost.
• Review material Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), supplier lead times, and packaging constraints to minimize excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
• Identify materials and components with elevated operational or inventory risk due to long lead times, unique packaging, regional constraints, or limited future use opportunities.
• Partner closely with Master Scheduling and Supply Planning teams to prioritize launches within rolling production plans and ensure capacity alignment.
• Ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and available in alignment with approved launch timelines and production requirements.
• Monitor launch execution progress and proactively identify operational risks, disruptions, and timeline threats.
• Develop feasible recovery and mitigation plans that minimize service disruption and maintain launch objectives whenever possible.
• Escalate operational risks with clear recommendations, business impacts, financial implications, and recovery options.
• Coordinate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality teams to resolve launch execution issues and supply disruptions.
• Lead scenario planning and recovery analysis related to supply disruptions, delayed materials, production constraints, or unexpected demand changes.
• Develop and communicate finished goods availability plans, including anticipated production timing, inventory phasing, warehouse availability, and launch readiness milestones.
• Maintain visibility to launch inventory build plans and ensure stakeholders understand expected supply availability throughout commercialization.
• Support launch-related decision-making involving expedited freight, early material purchases, constrained supply allocation, and inventory risk management.
• Build trust through transparent, proactive, and solution-oriented communication across internal teams and external partners.
• Provide operational launch readiness updates, manufacturing status visibility, inventory projections, and supply risk assessments to key stakeholders.
• Partner closely with P&I / NPL teams to ensure operational inputs are accurately reflected within commercialization timelines and launch governance processes.
• Maintain clear communication regarding launch product availability timing, production readiness, and operational constraints.
• Hold operational stakeholders accountable to critical launch deliverables and escalate risks when commitments are not met.
• Support transition of stabilized launches into standard catalog management and operational ownership structures.
• Participate in Commercialization Readiness Gate activities to validate operational execution readiness prior to ownership transfer.
• Ensure launch master data, BOM readiness, logistics specifications, costing inputs, and operational setup activities are completed.
• Monitor launch performance through stabilization periods including service levels, inventory health, production stability, forecast adherence, and supply continuity.
• Execute formal transition of stabilized SKUs into standard planning and catalog management processes.
• Ensure launch-related exceptions, risks, and operational constraints are resolved prior to handoff into base business management.
• Capture and communicate launch learnings to improve future commercialization execution and operational readiness processes.
