The Launch Process Engineer is responsible for specifying, designing, validating, running off, installing, and launching new and existing machining systems that produce engine and transmission components, including cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, transmission cases, and other largely aluminum components. The role works with a team of engineers and regularly interacts with plant operations personnel and suppliers, with responsibility for process elements such as tooling, gauging, and process documentation. The engineer supports manufacturing launches by coordinating process and tooling development, evaluating designs for high-volume manufacturing, resolving feasibility and launch issues, and leading tooling installation and commissioning. The position is hybrid; candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub may be required to work onsite four or more days per week. Extended travel may be needed to support launch programs.
