About The Position

ISS STOXX is hiring a temporary Corporate Governance Research Analyst for its Latin American Research team during the spring annual meeting season. The role begins in January 2027 and ends in early May 2027, with some possible fluctuation in the dates. The analyst conducts basic and advanced governance research and prepares proxy analyses for shareholder meetings of publicly traded companies in Latin American markets, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

The position follows a five-day-a-week in-office schedule, with location options in Rockville, Maryland, or Washington, DC. During peak season, particularly late March to mid-April, overtime may be requested, including evenings or weekends. The full-time schedule is 40 hours per week, and overtime is eligible subject to manager approval. Pay is $26.00–$27.50 per hour, with exact compensation depending on skills, experience, and education. Payroll is handled through a third party; ISS STOXX benefits are not applicable, though benefits may be available through the provider after an eligibility period.

Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Strong analytical abilities and some knowledge of corporate governance issues.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with data information.
• A self-driven work ethic and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks in March and April.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate with various internal parties.
• Familiarity with Latin American country regulators and stock exchanges, as well as SEC filings.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.

• Relevant work experience, preferably in governance, accounting, law, or other corporate fields.

Responsibilities

• Review company filings with regulators, SEC filings such as 20-Fs and 6-Ks, and other publicly disclosed documents to identify financial, industry, and corporate governance information.
• Draft analyses and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS policy guidelines.
• Verify the accuracy of company information collected for proxy analysis reports, including financials, director profiles, remuneration data, and auditor fees.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports using quantitative and qualitative analysis in accordance with ISS STOXX procedures and the relevant market policy guidelines.
