About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team on the night shift. This role is crucial for producing high-precision aerospace components from various materials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, quality-focused, and capable of working independently while operating multiple machines. This position offers a 20% pay differential for the night shift and is located in Phoenix, AZ.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required due to the nature of the work.
Proficiency with standard measuring and inspection equipment (Indicating Micrometers, Bore Gages, Sunnen Gage, & Test Indicators).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and other standard nomenclature.
Ability to read and interpret G & M machine codes and program understanding.
Experience holding tolerances of .0002” - .0005” and surface finish requirements of 16.
Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
General knowledge of standard shop practices and equipment.
High School or GED.
Ability to use computer software, including company ERP system, for tasks like clocking in and out of jobs.
Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift.
Ability to work 40+ hours per week in a fast-paced, high-demand, quality environment.
Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
Good problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Mazak machines.
Familiarity with live tooling.
5+ years’ experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Setup and operate CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Perform daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels and cleaning chips.
Manage tooling, including entering offsets for tool wear and replacing worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, etc.).
Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols.
Understand and comply with industry buy-off requirements, company-specific handling and FOD requirements, and product identification requirements.
Properly fill out company paperwork, including MOT, Inspection Travelers, and Job Sheets.
Maintain correct part counts on the MOT for operations performed.
Hold tolerances of .0002” - .0005” while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Operate two machines regularly, working independently and staying on task.
Problem-solve and communicate process improvement suggestions to management.
Communicate any job-related issues or questions (part feature, program, inspection, etc.) to lead personnel for resolution or clarification.
Report all machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel.
