About The Position

Ogden City is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lateral Police Officer within the Police Department. This is a full-time, non-exempt sworn officer position eligible for benefits. The role involves law enforcement duties and requires specific certifications and experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Training equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade is required.
• Possession of a P.O.S.T. category I or II certificate or an associate degree with an emphasis in law enforcement with a minor that would enhance the officer's social awareness is desired but not mandatory.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Utah Driver's License is required.
• Must be currently or within the last two years employed as a Peace Officer (Law Enforcement Officer) in Utah or another state; may have retired or resigned from a full-time SWORN L.E.O. position within the last two years.
• Police Officers' standards and training certificate is required (L.E.O.) or the ability to obtain one. Please submit any documents you have with your application.

• Some prior state, municipal, or local law enforcement experience is desired.
