The Lateral Partner Recruiting Specialist reports to the Firm’s Senior Manager of Lateral Partner Recruiting and assists with the management of lateral partner recruitment for our US offices. The Specialist’s primary responsibility will be scheduling a high volume of interviews in a fast-paced environment. Other responsibilities will include liaising with outside legal search firms, collecting interview feedback and communicating status updates to senior level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-4 years’ experience; at least 3 years in a law firm setting, legal recruiting experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and priorities
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel and management
  • Must be team‐oriented and able to share information effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up and follow through skills
  • Work independently, under the direction of others, and as a part of a team
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Proactively learn and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Effectively handle and prioritize multiple time‐sensitive tasks, and work well in a high‐pressure environment in a thoughtful manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with applicant tracking systems a plus
  • This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm).

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment of lateral partners across practice areas, primarily for our US offices, through scheduling interviews, coordinating on site and virtual interview logistics, and supervising the collection of feedback
  • Coordinate complex scheduling and logistics for lateral partner recruitment, managing interviews with partners, while ensuring a seamless candidate experience
  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and strong judgment in high-visibility interactions
  • Exercise sound judgment and adaptability in navigating evolving priorities, shifting schedules, and sensitive situations common in senior-level recruiting processes
  • Track candidate progress and maintain accurate records across recruiting systems and internal reporting tools.
  • Manage the lateral partner database to ensure data is recorded accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Analyze recruiting data and results, compare strategy and targets, communicate status to senior members of the department and others as needed
  • Special projects as assigned
