The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking a Laser Weld Operator to join our team! PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: Job Summary Working under general supervision, Laser Weld Operator is responsible for setting up and operating laser weld systems in joining precision parts according to specifications. The role involves monitoring machine processes, performing measurements and inspections to ensure product quality, and adhering to safety and production standards. Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 5am to 3:30pm

Requirements

  • Able to use a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to retain information.
  • Must have legible handwriting.

  • Must be classified as US Persons and are required to show proof upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements.
  • Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
  • Must be able to retain information and show continued progression of growth towards Level II.
  • Learn to locate and interpret Engineering Drawings to correctly determine requirements.
  • Develop strong understanding of the quality requirements of individual components and the finished products.
  • Use Certified Laser Weld Instructions (CLWI) to Setup and operate BOTH Laser weld systems: LASAG (SP-41070 MTH 4) and IPG (SP-41070 MTH 5).
  • Learn use of correct tools, techniques, and equipment to inspect dimensions of components and finished assemblies as required.
  • In-process visual inspections under a microscope to confirm compliance with weld quality standards in WQS-300.
  • Obtain certification for Laser Weld Operator compliant to D17.1 guidelines
  • Must perform all tasks with rigid adherence to parts handling best practices
  • Work towards Pass/Fail Leak Check Certification.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed work area
  • Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes
