About The Position

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring a Laser cutting machine to ensure the production of quality parts according to production orders and engineering specifications. This role involves performing necessary quality checks, recording information, and completing general utility work to meet the production schedule. The position operates on the 2nd shift, from 2pm to 10pm.

Requirements

Dependable
1-3 years CNC experience in a production manufacturing environment
Strong math skills
Good attendance
Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
Basic computer skills
Ability to work safely and efficiently
Ability to work with close tolerances
Ability to work in a team and independently
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
Additional courses in CNC Laser set-up and operation

Responsibilities

Understands machine set-up, including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials.
Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines.
Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
Operate tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.
Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications.
Check Quality of product machined and notify the supervisor of process issues.
Operates and navigates in a windows-based computer environment.
Can program nesting software maximize product/material usage
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Perform operator maintenance and/or housekeeping per established schedules
Other duties as assigned, including the operation of other machines, sort, rework, de-nest, assembly, weld or processing of other parts as a manufacturing team member. Refer to the Manufacturing Team Member Job Description.
