About The Position

Toledo Tool & Die is seeking a Laser Operator to join their 2nd shift team. This full-time position is responsible for operating laser cells, ensuring product quality, performing routine maintenance, recording data, and moving materials. The role requires a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, consistent attendance, and a willingness to learn. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
  • Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
  • Work as a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Physical dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a factory is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Experience operating large industrial equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support and operate Laser cells under the direction of the Laser Supervisor.
  • Produce good, conforming laser cut products.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the laser is running properly.
  • Inspect product for visual defects.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Record operational data.
  • Move materials to and from other locations.
  • Use a crane to load raw tubing periodically at the cell.
  • Perform general housekeeping in and around work areas.
  • Start and/or operate Laser cells, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
  • Match and compare production parts with approved 1st piece for visual part defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
  • Complete simple to intermediate mechanical tasks associated with set-up, breakdown, coil changes.
  • Package finished materials in the proper container and label according to customer requirements.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager.
