About The Position

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a CNC laser machine to fabricate metal parts. This role requires knowledge of CNC laser operation, metal fabrication processes, and the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs. The operator will ensure "0 defect" parts are produced by checking accuracy with blueprints and precision tools, and accurately completing work orders. The position involves working a regular schedule and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required
  • Ability to use Direct read measuring devices required
  • Ability to properly document paperwork
  • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Ear protection, steel toed boots, etc)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, fabrication management and/or operations of low and mid-sized volume metal fabrication preferred

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC laser machine
  • Retrieve programs, use proper gases, nozzles, and lenses for CNC laser operation
  • Understand metal fabrication processes and concepts
  • Provide routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs to CNC laser machine
  • Setup metal fabrication machinery and other production necessities to produce "0 defect" parts
  • Check accuracy of work using blueprints and precision measuring tools
  • Accurately complete work orders with correct quantities of good and defective parts
  • Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
