About The Position

This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements. In this role, you will perform laser-based and mechanical inspection to verify product conformance and generate accurate inspection data packages. You will work closely with customer representatives to present inspection results and support conformance verification prior to delivery. Your work directly contributes to product safety, assembly accuracy, and the reliable performance of mission‑critical aerospace hardware.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience inspecting machined parts and assemblies, including laser technology and practices.
  • Three years of experience performing laser inspection.
  • Three years of experience working with customer source inspectors.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in blueprint and model interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of customer requirements and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Mastercam and VERISURF software.
  • Working knowledge of laser equipment utilizing VERISURF.
  • Working knowledge of Catia modeling software.
  • Knowledge of basic Quality Management System (QMS) reporting, recordkeeping, and instruction‑following.
  • U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

Responsibilities

  • Performs laser, mechanical, and visual inspection using engineering data and electronic models.
  • Generates complete and accurate inspection reports and data packages.
  • Presents inspected product and documentation to customer source inspectors for conformance verification.
  • Supports production teams by coordinating inspection schedules and verifying assemblies.
  • Applies metrology methods to ensure aerospace quality standards and product conformity.
  • Interprets blueprints and models to guide inspection processes.
  • Uses Mastercam, VERISURF, Catia, and laser equipment to complete inspection activities.
  • Maintains compliance with customer requirements, specifications, and applicable changes.
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers to support inspection and manufacturing needs.
  • Understands product impact in the event of failure and ensures adherence to quality‑assurance expectations.
