This position is for a Large Format Digital Press Operator to run digital printing presses and is a replacement position due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Digital printing experience
  • Familiarity with all related print equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine forms such as time sheets, summarize run data etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally
  • Familiarity with the use and completion of production paperwork, production logs and other written communication devices
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to use abstract reasoning subject to managerial approval in situations departing from accepted procedures and practices

Responsibilities

  • Feeder operations
  • Registration control
  • Ripping of files
  • Maintaining adequate equipment supplies
  • Housekeeping of equipment area
  • Inspection of printed product for imperfections and defects
  • First Piece Inspection
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Maintaining quality and safety at the equipment and around the operating area
  • Running the equipment during the printing process
  • Adjusting the equipment to the proper dimensions of the substrate
  • Verifying that the equipment is running according to the required specs as outlined in the job ticket
  • Interacting with equipment service personnel and clearly identifying equipment problems
  • Loading, unloading, cleaning and maintaining the equipment
  • Maintaining daily time, production, and material usage reports
  • Following job instructions listed on production matrixes
  • Maintaining SOP’s as per written or verbal instructions and following all applicable SOP’s
  • May be required to work on various print equipment as per business needs (i.e. Agfa, INCA X3, etc.)
  • Performing all other duties as requested by Management in order to help the team effort
  • Supporting and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
