The Laptop Refresh Technician will need excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills and ability to work and collaborate with the wider IT Team, who are based in the US, Canada, UK and India. As this role requires hands-on service, the position is on-site in our Manhattan, NY (Financial District) office. This role offers an excellent entry point into IT support, providing valuable hands-on experience and exposure to a broad range of IT disciplines. This position is Monday through Friday shift, 8am – 5pm in our New York City office.

Requirements

  • College degree in any IT Discipline or 2+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, and imaging tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of hardware setup, software installation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as required (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, image, and configure new laptops according to company standards.
  • Migrate user data and settings from old devices to new laptops.
  • Schedule and coordinate laptop deployments with employees and departments.
  • Collect, inventory, and decommission old laptops following security protocols.
  • Install necessary applications and updates on new devices.
  • Provide first-level support during and after deployment to ensure user satisfaction.
  • Document asset transfers and update the inventory management system.
  • Work closely with the IT team to troubleshoot deployment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT security policies throughout the refresh process.
  • Must be able to work independently at times with limited supervision.
  • Have excellent customer service skills, be willing to take ownership of a ticket, and engage other departments if necessary to resolve.
