About The Position

Global Siri is seeking a Language Engineer to shape Siri for Hebrew users. The team owns Siri end-to-end, from speech recognition and natural language understanding through responses. This role is the technical anchor for the Hebrew market, leading work streams to design and implement large-scale machine learning and generative AI solutions that improve the customer experience.

The work spans machine learning, data, and software engineering. The engineer will use large language models, agentic approaches, and data-generation methods to build real-world systems; run data experiments; adapt models for global markets; and engineer scalable software for personalized, culturally relevant customer experiences. The role also collaborates with partner teams across Apple, sharing expertise and proposing architectures that account for international market nuances so Siri feels native to Hebrew users.

Requirements

• Professional-level fluency in Hebrew and deep familiarity with the culture and idiom of Hebrew-speaking regions.
• Experience applying machine learning and natural language processing techniques to deliver products, with a solid understanding of machine learning concepts.
• Strong software design and programming skills across different paradigms, including testing and maintainability, and experience contributing to large production codebases.
• Experience working with data at scale, including building or curating datasets, analyzing results, and making data-driven decisions.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, including fine-tuning, prompt and context engineering, evaluation, and inference optimization; experience with agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation.
• Ability to formulate a research problem, design and conduct experiments, implement solutions, and communicate results.
• Product focus with a strong emphasis on end-user experience.
• Experience writing software in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with speech technologies such as automatic speech recognition, text-to-speech, or pronunciation modeling.
• Experience adapting models or products across languages and markets, including multilingual or cross-lingual modeling, transfer learning, or low-resource settings.
• Experience on Apple platforms preferred.
