About The Position

The Language Assessor position is responsible for providing language proficiency assessment information by assessing, scoring, and maintaining records. This role involves administering and scoring language assessment tests, recording test information into the student information system, and arranging for student testing through school-site staff. The assessor will also provide support for immigrant families, coordinate with the special education department for translation needs during reclassification meetings, and maintain a monthly updated foreign language list. Additionally, the position assists with the Rosetta Stone language program for immigrant families and coordinates with the Family and Community Engagement department (FACE) to stay informed about services for families. Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or some college training
  • Ability to fluently speak, read and write English and Spanish
  • Skill and accuracy in oral and written expression
  • Ability to respect confidential matters
  • Ability and willingness to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to work with adults and children in a personable manner
  • Possession of valid driver's license and car for use on district business
  • Must pass required tests

  • Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Assembly Bill (AB2534) and Senate Bill (SB848), mandates all certificated and classified applicants provide a complete and accurate list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, and/or state special school (Local Educational Agencies (LEA)) where the applicant has previously worked, regardless of the length of service, including full-time, part-time and substitute employment.
  • If multiple LEAs are within the same district, only the district information is required.
  • Failure to disclose any previous educational employment and/or providing false information in a job application may result in the disqualification of your application.
